Okies.

If you've been busy, here is a lame ass update:

- I posted the video for Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" and it'll be available for a couple more days. So git it whilest the gittin' is good.

- I have a new moodtheme. This was difficult for my pea brain to handle.

- Today marks the "almost fucking over" point of my tax season. Hallelujiah. I got out about a dozen "oh, look we forgot we have these" returns today. Which, sounds easy, but of course there's a retarded and complex issue to it. Fuckers. But anyrate, the only ones I have left to go out are ones I don't have yet. BOOYAAAAHHH.

- It's GORGEOUS outside. Good gawd, yo. However, this comes with a downside. Allergies.

- I'm officially living paycheck to paycheck again. This sucks. I'm also incredibly nervous due to my car insurance situation being all effed up. I'm going to be a pain in the ass and call New Jersey Manufacturer's tomorrow and see what they say. I really don't have money for a premium right now. Heh. *sigh* Oh well, such is life.

Still no word on my mother giving me dime one for this stupid loan that Charlie owes me money for. I wonder if the excuse for him not working yet again, will be that there's still snow on the ground somewhere in the world *rolls eyes*

- DOOOD. There was WET neon fucking green paint on my vehicle this morning. WTF MATE!?! I was pissed. Luckily it was wet, and came RIGHT off. Or there would have been words. With who, I don't know. But there would have been words. Oh, and I got an oil change and a car wash the other day, so OF COURSE I needed to get paint on my car, along with the little birdies using my car as a toilet. gR.

- Friday was fun. Went to Christine & Eric's and had a blast. Made some ghetto punch. Actually, my dear sweet NON DRINKING boyfriend made it. A cup and a half later, I was Jello.

- Saturday was fun. I ended up going to Casey fucking O'Tooles and it reminded me WHY I never fucking go there. Jesus. I must have seen about 12 people I knew from high school or even EARLIER. There was no need. Of *course* none of them said hi. However, I was with my merry band of freaks, so that might have made me unapproachable. Heh. For shame.

- Finished Marilyn Manson's "Long Hard Road Out of Hell" book again. I hadn't read it since it first came out. Been on a Manson kick lately. I like his music, and I don't care what pretentious bitches say it's not goth. I just like it. Almost done with Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game". Weeee.

- Yesterday, I was useless. I was veal. I was tired. Oh wait, I still am.

- Odd depression setting in. I keep thinking about all the things I've lived through, and I'm getting increasingly angry and sad about some of it. Like, TONS of good shit has happened to me, and I can recall that as easily as the bad. But for some wickedly awful reason all the bad shit is flowing back to me like fucking crazy. I'm also pmsing. So, who knows.

- Still working on that bitter thing. I think it might be related to the above, or vice versa.

- Why OH WHY is gas so fucking expensive??? It's like, $2.49 and shit. That is like, running a car on milk. Fucking ridiculous.

I have 20 more minutes. Then I can leave.

Yay.

Woo.

Ok, we need a mass campaign to empty Washington of all the assholes who are in the pockets of big oil.

I am very excited for the time that gas goes so high that people have to change the way they do things. When I was in Japan, gas was $4.50 USD for a LITRE of gas. Mass transit ran every couple of mins, and you could take the train to the middle of a field if you wanted.

This oil thing is asinine. How many people in Jersey just sit in traffic EVERY day and just spew this shit into the air?

if mass transit were more readily available, i'm sure it WOULD be a more preferred mode of transportation.

as it is, i can't even get a bus from home to work without leaving two hours early and having transfers all over creation. so it makes no sense AND i live in a more urban part of jersey, so that's even SILLIER!

if i COULD take a train into the middle of a damned field, that would be fantastic. assuming that were my destination.

Lots of people want to be away from all of the other people. Look how many people drive to Newark daily (the traffic on my street is absolutely FUBAR between 8 and 10). For most people, it is about selfishness, not inability (or the fact that the bus might take 1.5x longer because it makes stops).

At any rate, why do you think that mass transit is so limited? There is no money, and it's not a priority because we've had cheap oil. One major reason is that until the mid 1970's, we barely even needed to import the stuff.

NJ is one of the better states, in fact. Europe on the other hand has taxed the living Christ out of gas and built efficient mass transit with it. Clearly we'd rather stick our thumbs up our collective asses instead.

People drive into NEW YORK every day. That is like the pinnacle of stupidity. "But I'd have to take the subway all the way up town! " These people are why we need more trains (so that they can jump in front of them)

Newark, especially now, is a great way to take a year off your car's life. Most of the roads are barely paved right now with all the work they are doing. I've had two "accidents" that involved the pavement and the various canyons within it. It's also a pretty good way to get sideswiped by a bus, because the substitute lane markings are not really wide enough for a car, and it's no longer clear where one side of the road ends and another begins.

HAHHAHA

oh, but aren't they *fixing* the roads in newark.. yeah. o k a y.

Well, I don't blame them at all for the way the downtown roads are. Fixing them would make no sense, as they will need to rip them up again shortly. If you didn't know, they're building a light rail system through downtown. Most of the way finished.

Supposed to go all the way down 21 to the airport and Jersey Gardens, and to Elizabeth train station's lower level. I'm not holding my breath on the other two parts.

It's going to be huge, though, for downtown. They're making the area by Broad Street station look nicer than the area by the train station in Rutherford, and it's going to be very well lit.

so they are going to destroy mulberry street?

Date: 2006-04-11 06:15 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ryanov.livejournal.com
They're already done doing that. Took the pavement off between NJPAC and Raymond to dig. It's all finished now.

i meant the whole thing. they're always threatening to demolish q's and all. but i'm like, it's RIGHT behind the post office. i don't know how that'd work.

Transit has no plans for Mulberry anyway.

What a tranquil sounding name, eh? ;)

i like how in the one paragraph they tell you to look twice before crossing the rails, because the car is so SILENT that you won't hear it coming.. heheh

Which is wrong anyway because they make this odd electric sounding screeching noise and they clang that bell at every opportunity. I'd like to know what's wrong with you if you can accidentally get hit by something that large. :)

it's like, you deserve to get hit by it. unless you're deaf. and blind.

Lots of people listen to headphones way too loudly, or talk on their cell while crossing the street. Those people need to pay attention (I've barked at people I love for doing stuff like that).

It reall is a mess. Every alternative has been gobbled up and bought by big oil companies and no one is doing one damn thing about it.

When we run out and the country shuts down, then maybe something will be done.

Maybe. Idiots.
