I have a new roommate!

Andrew, Steven & I have welcomed Elliot into our fold. The cat approves.

Today is gorgeous. It's 72 and sunnie with a slight breeze! Excellent!

I am doing laundry. Woo.

The other day I did a MASSIVE reorganization of the living room and put 98% of the stuff that was in there into the basement. w00t!

Haven't done too much cause my dust allergies are so bad that I'm literally breaking into hives and the roof of my mouth has been itching for days! So strange. But Andrew bought me those medical masks. HAHAH! So I can continue.

Just trying to organize my massive amount of kitchen stuff. Oi. It's overwhelming.

We've also been looking at couches. Found one I adored at Ashley Furniture more than the one we liked at Ikea, but it's actually a NICE couch, not like, Idea disposable. Ashley Couch (which is decidedly more cinnamon in person. More of a rust color.) and Ikea Couch (which has storage under the chaise, and turns into a double bed, with no bar in the middle!) I think the cinnamon one is stunning, but the Ikea one is terribly practical (shocker that).

Today we're going to another furniture store to check out more couches. It's an annoying process, but it needs to be done. Right now my grandma's chair is the only real comfy seating in there. Oh! And there's another chair. But yeah.

Have I mentioned how well my Juliet has adjusted? She is one happy cat. When I brought all my stuff here, she was SO EXCITED to rub on everything, and spent quite a bit of time napping on my bed (Elliot's gonna be using it). Pippi left behind these Friskies treats that her cats didn't like, and so I tried to give them to Juliet. She usually hates most treats, but I figured what the hell.

She LOVES them. Like, will stare at you and yell at you for more, kind of yell. LOL... she's so cute.

Anyrate. We're off to play with furniture and torment the sales people. They looooove us. We didn't even like anything at the one place.

Still waiting to hear from a job I interviewed for. *worries lip* But! I am hopeful :)

*flits*

Amazing friends and all their shit in Maryland?

*thumbs to self*

synnoveaevael: (Yummie)
tired of living on Zyrtec.

*sniffles*

SO MUCH DUST.

Anyrate. Leslie came over tonight! YAY! We had pizza. Mushrooms & garlic. OMNOMNOM.

I think I'm done with the kitchen. Yay.

Dismantled some shelves. Took down my curtain the other day (the one in the living room to the kitchen) and took down the hardware today. Apparently it took some paint too. Oi.

Had to unpack and repack some things. Joy.

Tomorrow, my bedroom. *grumble* At least the startings of it. I have to get out the clothes I need for the next few days, and put them aside.

I think I'm going the route Leslie said and just shove my clothes in garbage bags. Fuck it.

So tired of boxes.

Oh, applied to more jobs today. Another at MedImmune. But the Frederick one! OooOoh.

I'm kinda bummed I haven't heard about the Humane Society one. That seemed kind of fun.

Finding a new career is balls.

Just keep swimming!

Goddamn I love Antonio Banderas & Brad Pitt's interactions in this movie. *rawr*

Ha.

Coincidence?

So today I've watched Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, Juno, Timeline, Sweet Home Alabama, and Drop Dead Gorgeous.

In Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, Michael Cera is in it.

He's also in Juno. In Juno, is Allison Janney. Who is also in Drop Dead Gorgeous.

In Timeline, Ethan Embry, who is also in Sweet Home Alabama.

All my movies are overlapping actors. Heh. Oddly enough, Interview with the Vampire was going to be next, which also stars Kirsten Dunst, who is in Drop Dead Gorgeous.

HA!

Okay. Back to packing. OH! I found my old Nintendo games. Now if I knew where I put my Nintendo. I had it out here for a while. Hmmmm.... I'll find it. :D

Wooooo!

The past few days have been a whirlwind of activity.

Savannah drove her southern ass all the way up from Kentucky JUST FOR ME.

I dragged her to BACONFEST. Fun was had. Then we went to my house, and we packed.

I went through two of my "I'll figure it out later" drawers and my closet and my living room closet.

Filled up a CONTRACTOR bag with garbage, and almost another full one. Two garbage bags of clothes to Good Will, a bag of shoes there too, and a bag of stuffed aminals.

*phew*

Monday Steph showed up with some Dunkin Donuts and we did more.

Boxed up a TON of crap, went through a lot of boxed crap and threw stuff out. It was a pain in the ass. Paired things down a LOT.

Also on Monday... Did the thing that's been stressing me the most.

Moved Juliet.

Now, I have never actually driven with her, due to random circumstance. So I had NO IDEA how she would react.

She was a lil' vocal for the first half hour. And whenever I'd shift her she'd go "WHY." I was concerned if she lost her shit, I'd Benadryl her. She's normally such a chill beastie.

But.

She was purring!

So okay. I figure she's either stressing so hard, or I don't know what.

I took her out of the carrier and she spent the next 3ish hours in my lap in a cute ball of purring kitten.

Then, I put her BACK in the carrier cause Andrew was still at the Haven. Showed her off where she was quiet. She did just fine though!

She was a bit vocal when we went back outside. I don't think she likes the cold air much. LOL

Then. OH THE FUN. We took her into the house.

I put her in the kitchen, and opened her carrier.

She did exactly what I thought she'd do. She crawled around the dining room all low to the ground. She perked her lil' head up and was nosy ALL over.

I told her to come on and follow me upstairs and she would take each step when I took one and look at me if it was okay to take the next (she hasn't had many stairs in her life, LOL).

She made a BEE LINE for Pippi's old room, which had a lot of cat hair in it, and I hadn't finished sweeping it, and she sniffed EVER EE THING. Chirping and purring the whole time. Looking at me all questioning. It was precious.

Then I started to walk into our room and she was like "I WILL FOLLOW YOU HOLD UP MAMA" and purred and ran towards me.

And she came in here, and I walked to my side of the bed and she looked up at me, and smelled my clothes and rubbed her face in them and then I put her on my bed. She smelled my pillow and rolled on the bed.

She eventually came back downstairs, and rolled on her back on the landing. She's been like a lil' puppie. She comes when you call her, and she runs around all over the place.

She's getting really used to the stairs and chased a gnat / fly / kitten fairy up them earlier!

She hasn't stopped purring since somewhere around 8pm on Tuesday.

28 hours later. SHE IS STILL PURRING.

Apparently last night she kept Steven company in the living room for a bit. She was having fun exploring.

Andrew's brushed the holy hell out of her fur. Makes her happy. She's sleeping by my feet right now in the bed.

I love the hell out of my cat. I slept like the DEAD last night. I think she was my biggest worry about this move.

Now I can focus on other things.

And freak out on them. :D

Teh Nikkeh is tired.

Friday:

Went out to dinner with Steph, Tim, Ryan and Archie. Went to "Bud's Hut". Expensive and slightly disappointing. 2 out of 5 stars. Still owe Ryan for dinner. Half listened to the kareoke from HELL. Oi.

Went back to Steph & Tim's and watched "Strangebrew", eh? Ya hoser. Passed out before the end of the movie.

Saturday:

Helped Deanne & Kevin move. See further details and humor and insight here. Alls I got to say was that couch was RANK. I didn't think there'd be enough Febreze in the world to cut the smell of that ass. *shudders* Danny's hetero-lifemate, Sean, was cracking me the fuck up when we were shoving the offending piece of furniture into the van, and Sean was like, cursing a blue streak. "I'm just gonna throw up on this thing, it'll probably make it smell better." Kevin's brother Sean, who is fairly silent was like "Get me the hell out of this van, I can't stand the smell."

I proved once again that I haven't lost my knot tying skills. JD & I roped down the mattress and box spring like it was our jobs. Wait, it was.

We all took turns sitting in De & Kev's iJoy and worked away those moving pains.

Archie was a PRINCE and brought in soda and snackie things for the crew, and assembled MANY things with MANY ittie bittie fucking pieces. He's a keeper, so sayeth Momma Jo at least twice. She nearly expired when he randomly started to vacuum. :D

De's place is really nice. Can't wait for the housewarming. *grins*

So after a bit, we go home, and I'm like, BEAT. So fucking tired. Went to bed at like, 11 or something.

Sunday:

Wake up. Late. Later still. Very tired. Finally shower and putz around, bsing with Archie, Wendy & Jared when all of the fucking sudden it's like the kittie Indy500.

ZROOOM*flutterflutter*
ZROOOOM*flutterflutter*

Juliet is TEARING ASS around the living room, followed by Firenze & Lexington in a blur of fur.

We realize at the second time around the living room (I was still sorta shocked they ran off of me and totally fucked up the kittie condo) that Juliet had a PLASTIC BAG wrapped around her neck, Superman style.

So she's making all sortsa plastic bag sounds and Firenze & Lexie are like GAME TIME!

After they SLAM disappearing into my bedroom, Wendy, Archie & I lose our shit... Like, laughing so hard we're crying. My poor kitten.

Jared's all like "I'm glad YOU guys think it's funnie cause now they're fighting"

So I go into my bedroom, and Juliet's hiding and growling and hissing at Lexington. Firenze had the forethought to bolt the fuck outta there. Lexie's stupid and like "But Julie, we were just PLAYIN!"

So I reach in and get my hissing ball of calico crazy kittie and detach the offending bag from her. (I figured she was laying in my bag of extra cloth when one of the other cats spooked her, cause the cloth was strewn about.) I snuggled with her for like an hour. Just calming her down.

Once she was good and relaxed and purring and sleepie, Archie let Lexie back in. Lexie, who was VERY concerned about his sister.

So I say to Lexie, "Go apologize to Juliet" and he goes and starts licking her ass. I'm like "NOO not like that!!"

Arg.

Kitties are nuts.

So we eventually get to faire. We didn't do much all effing day. It was nice. Missed the Pub Sing cause I crawled up Bethany's ass and bugged her for a bit, then went to find Janete by the rose cooler and we all ended up hitting Tiffany's Diner. Had immense amounts of laughs, ate too much, watched Janete hurl, and had an amusing ride home.

Nikkeh sleepeh today.

synnoveaevael: (Kiss mah arse!)
Okies.

Last night, I did the dishes, and then after I signed off this contraption to CLEAN MY KITCHEN FLOOR. Like, did the whole 9... degreased it and dusted and did the counters and stove and whatever.

SOOO proud.

So like, I come home today, and I'm like, WTF is going on in my kitchen???

THE SINK IS FULL. AND FLOWING OVER THE KITCHEN FLOOR AND FILLED HALF MY COMPUTER ROOM... AAAAAAAAAARRRGGG

About 4 minutes later, Janete comes in and I'm just like AAAAAAAAAARRGGGG!!!!

We take a walk to the office to figure out the which super is on duty (it's posted on the door), then go to the WRONG FUCKING APARTMENT GODDAMNED DYSLEXIA (see, I told you I have it) and then we get to the right apartment, and the superintendent on duty is like "dayum" in his Polish broken English.

So, we have a fabulous time. Cleaning the kitchen, snaking everything, everything is COVERED in greasy water, and I know it's not from my kitchen cause there are LENTILS everywhere, and I don't fucking COOK with lentils.

Cocksuckers.

JESUS CHRIST.

Where is Janete you ask, whilest I'm up to my tits in greasy chicken water?

Typing this.

AAAAAAAARGGG!!

I can't stop laughing. I can't.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH.

AHAHHAHAHH!

I just washed my hands and feet and knees.

The Polish super was hysterical. I'm like "Yo, the kitchen tile is WARPING" and he's like "well, that's a shame, we'll fix it" and I'm like, "dood, I don't care, I'm MOVING NEXT WEEKEND" and he's like AHAHHAHAHAH.

Everyone together now.

AHAHHAHAHAHAHHHAHA

Jesus H. Christ.

Otay. I gotta get my pix from CostCutters, cause I actually dropped off film to be developed and I want to eat something that isn't greasy.

Goddamn.
