I hate my job sometimes. A lot of times.
Cause it's MAAAAAAAAAAAD depressing.
This guy calls, saying his son died and the funeral home recommended him to us. It happens. So I give the call to the appropriate person, and look online at the funeral home for an obit.
The kid. He graduated high school in 1997.
*I* graduated high school in 1997.
He was really *really* overweight, but popular, and a hard worker. Was a volunteer fireman, etc.
He had a heart attack.
I dunno. Just kinda hit me.
I also had one of the most disturbing dreams on record of my cousin this weekend. It was so real, I woke with tears in my eyes. It sucked.
She IM'ed me this morning, and it just made me remember.
I miss her. Now that I have a non-suck car, I'm gonna go visit her soon.
Just focus on the good... right?

Date: 2006-03-06 05:03 pm (UTC)i can't imagine. hard enought to lose a father, but to lose a son. not something you want to think about.

Date: 2006-03-06 05:06 pm (UTC)it's unnatural. parents are older, and as much as it hurts to have them go, it's the natural order of things because they're older. you're just not supposed to outlive your kids. i couldn't imagine it either.

Date: 2006-03-06 05:24 pm (UTC)It's a sobering thought when we hear about people our age dying. Reminds us of our mortality and that we ARE human and it CAN happen to us.
It also reminds us to live every moment like it's our last...because it very well could be.
You gotta live to experience, not the other way around. *Hugs*
