So.

I just got through The Notebook.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the damned thing.

Cried for like, half an hour.

I think it was good?

Saw the movie. Read the book.

It's a very unusual thing for me...but I really thought the movie was better than the book. I HATED the ending of the book and the movie really closed the story MUCH better.

Egads, no kidding. N & I bought the damn movie because it was so beautiful and emotional and we've never been able to sit through another viewing. We were a train wreck - sobbing our eyes out.

Just watch it through the hot scene. Once it flashes back to the old people? Stop it.

That's what i do. ;)
heh.

Well. I was living with Howie and Hil and no one was home. I took a shower and had left the tv on one of the womeny movie stations and when I got out it was on. I decided "eh why not watch this movie, some girl I hated looooooooooooooooooved this movie, so I shall sit and tourture myself by watching this". So sitting in my towel on the couch I endevoured to watch this peice of cinema.

Needless to say at the end of the movie I was a sniviling weepy mess on the couch and threw things at the tv cursing a movie that would do this to me. It's like that episode of Futurama where the dog waits for Fry and eventually kicks it. Old people and animals man.

I saw it in theatre with my mom.

EVERY SINGLE WOMAN in that theatre was crying at the end of it.

Except for me. I mean, it was REALLY sad and I felt like crying, but I didn't actually cry!

weird

This movie and The Constant Gardener are the only movies to ever leave me BAWLING in a movie theatre. The book is good, but this was much more moving and beautiful.

indeed. i cry like a baby every time at the end of that movie.
and i've seen it... oh.. somewhere between 10-20 times.

funny thing, when i first saw it in the theatre, i was on a date. like maybe a second date? third? something like that. anyway, me and the guy were the youngest in there. and how about this... he started crying about an HOUR before i did. seriously, like somewhere in the beginning. i don't remember when. wtf?

as you can see, that didn't last long. (and damn, he was so cute!)

I liked it, but it was a definite tear-jerker. Think I saw it back when I first got to Dyess.

I love that movie. It's a real love story, makes me laugh and cry and crave deep love. Mike and I are gonna watch it later. We watched Lars & The Real Girl last night, which also has Ryan Gosling in it.
