Is starting off teary too.
Last night, I was in that place between sleep and awake and I heard him calling me.
Cause I had a name in his world. The other cat's don't say it. But in his world? I had a very distinct name, which I sadly don't have on recording. But I hope I'll remember it forever. I still remember my grandmother's laugh, so, I'm hoping.
But, when he wanted up on my lap, or my bed, *sometimes* he'd ask for permission and say "Mrraaoowwp?" and nod his head like "hey, ma? can i git up there too?"
And I'd pat the bed or my lap and he'd gracefully leap up.
I heard that 3 times last night. Woke me up out of a dead sleep. The brain is a mean thing.
Today, is full of distractions. I have a family thing to go to and then I'm going to a party.
I hope I can stop crying long enough to keep eye make up on.
I think I know why Juliet never spent as much time in my lap as Lexie did.
She was being considerate. That cat sheds SO FRIGGIN MUCH. Like, now that I can't stop hugging her? I put her down and take her away with me. It's like I have more cat on me than when I had a breathing cat on me.
Damned calicos.
She understands though, me thinks. She's doing alright so far. Firenze seems down though. I hope they don't kill each other. They don't get along.
Trying to keep my chin up. Trying to stay distracted. Doing a poor job of #1, and a quasi good one of #2.
I get to see my nephew again today. He is so friggin precious. He got professional pix done with my cousin's dogs, and the dogs were SO GOOD. They sat there and smiled. And Joey was so cute. He's sleep smiling in one picture, yawning in another, and looking like a sleepie lil' lump in the other. SO SWEET.
And I definitely think his eyes are staying denim blue.
I have to go make Rice Krispie treats for the party. I've never made them. Isn't that sillie? They're so easy. Stickie, I'm sure, but easy. Melt. Pour. Set. DONE!
I'm going to melt chocolate and drizzle that over the top too. Cause, yum?? :)
Such is life.
