I got her a gift certificate for Bath & Body Works and some little bottles of body wash from there, and I'm loaning her some books :)

My mom was complaining the other day because she is soon to be 55... and they have raised the age for discounts all over to 65. *giggle*

5 years ago she said she would NEVER be caught admiting her age to get those discounts. Funny how things can change. ;)

when she turned 30, she kept going "OH MY GOD! THE BIG 3 - 0!!!"

she lost her shit.

yeah, my mom had me young. when my cousin trish was born in january, my grandmother said to my THEN 20 YEAR OLD MOTHER "so when are YOU going to make me a grandmother?"

and my mother said "how about in 6 months?"

my grandmother nearly keeled over. LOL
