Omfg.

So. Jared & I are Italian, and greasy. Which after a while builds up and then I'm like EW! TUB ICK!! Of course since he doesn't shower with his glasses on, he has no idea what it looks like. Convenient excuse.

Well, I have a Lush bathbomb I wanna use. So, I exorcised the tub.

In bleach.

Scrubbed it's SOUL away.

The tub is CLEAN.

The only thing on the tub that isn't?

The HUUUGE nasty water stain from where it drips... ever.... so... slowly... out... of... the... tap....

Does anyone know how to remove such a deep down water stain? It's not smooth porcelain anymore, it's kinda rough, I suppose from absorbing the ick.

Bleach didn't work, althought it might have helped a *tiny* unnoticable bit.

Anyone? Bueller?

Also, all my laundry is done! Everything smells like citrus. I LOVE IT!! The new dryer sheets are the BOMB!!! Everything is cuddly soft and delicious without being slimy <3 <3 <3

I haven't put any of it away, except for making my bed and some towels, but huzzah!

Annndd after a month, I'm finally going to go back to the gym. Packed a bag and everything. Hmm. Over a month really. I haven't gone since before Grand Cayman. I have been too busy. I'm going to go tomorrow, and then again sometime next week. AHHAAHAHHA!!!

I also started packing my crap for faire. Since I need to have that all done for tomorrow. Hopefully if I remember, I'll bring down the air mattress and the bedding. I already have the white blanket of DOOM in my car since I washed it. And damn does it smell pretty.

I'm a new Nikki. I've even left home ON TIME for work. Been making my lunches!! I got to work on time today too. I rule. ANNND!! I did some old checkbook crap at work I didn't want to do.

Maybe. MAYBE tomorrow I'll do the statements. *snorts* Prolly not.

What I should do for tomorrow after werk is:

- go to the gym;
- finish putting away laundry and hanging up faire clothes;
- figure out what I'm wearing for faire this lovely weather having weekend;
- get singles for change;
- DISHES DISHES DISHES;
- bathe with the Lush bubble bomb of doom;
- sleep.

CLR or in the interest of trying to not spend money you could always try some vinegar. Now in both cases it kinda needs to soak in it to break it down, which, assuming it is like most I have seen which is like the side of the tub, means you can try and soak a rag in it and then leave it on that way, but it may require more than one application. My brains seem to remember that CLR comes in a spray on formula too, but don't quote me on it. Also? Pumice. Good enough for you feet, and does a job on tub/toilet nasties too. It could in theory scratch the tub up, but I have never had an issue, and if it has that much gunk on it anyway it might be an improvement regardless.

And if all my idea turn to shit you could always WikiHow it.

[identity profile] synnoveaevael.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
well, it's not gunk. it's water damage that's just ugly. does the vinegar still work for that? i don't want to pumice it cause it'll just scratch it up further.

gonna try the vinegar though. any particular kind?

:D

By gunk, I was refering to the hard water build up. I just use white vinegar as my first line of defense against all hard water build up (soak my shower heads in it).

exxxxxxxxxcellent smithers...

[identity profile] hunnysun.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Dude.
The sink where we used to live?
Was brown and horrid and rusty... and nasty.
....From the time we moved in.
Guh-rosse.

i boughted the CLR and Limeaway.
Used them both on that shit... with one of those green scouring pad deals. Squirted it all on there... let it sit.... like... a few hours.... and then scrubbed... rinsed... repeated. It took me like... 6 hours... No shit.
But that fucking sink was white and shiny.

Yet another reason those fuckers are super evil incarnate for trying to say we fucked up their house when ALLLL we did was make EVERYTHING better... FOR THEM... with OUR time and money.

Fucking bastards.

Anyway.
I recommend the CLR and the Limeaway.
Worked for me... turned the brown rusty sink white... and got all the rust and soap scum outta the shower too... the nasty grey glass? Clear.
Good shit yo.

clr is running top on the list :D

it's like, water damage though, not grunge. will that still work you think?

[identity profile] hunnysun.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... our kitchen sink was like... RUST... from the driiiiiippppp...... driiiiiiiiipppppp.... ... dripppppp....

it just looked like it spread to the whole sink.
But you could totally see where it initially dripped and spread out.

All of it came off.
Like i said... 6 hours... but it did eventually come clean.
:)

[identity profile] synnoveaevael.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
clr it is! where can i find this crap? just the store?

[identity profile] hunnysun.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I got it at Walmart... because that is where all that shizz is cheapest around here. But i think it is all over. Any store should have it.

:)

[identity profile] nixtress.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
CLR, Limeaway, Softscrub (and a sponge with a scrubbie side) or Kaboom.

[identity profile] nixtress.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
kaboom's not scary but the guy who advertises it sure is! it's billy mayes, the oxy-clean guy.

[identity profile] synnoveaevael.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] synnoveaevael.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew.

[identity profile] odogonefishin.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
yar... after I was done with dishes, I hit up the sink with bleach, then scrubbed with antibacterial soap...

[identity profile] synnoveaevael.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
daaaaaaaaaaaaamn. you win.

[identity profile] ryanov.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
CLR. Stands for Calcium/Lime/Rust, if I'm not mistaken.

[identity profile] synnoveaevael.livejournal.com 2007-08-16 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
excellllent. it shall be mine, oh yes. it shall be mine.

[identity profile] craftyskwrl.livejournal.com 2007-08-17 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
CLR is goot stuff. If by some off chance you didn't already obtain it though, I've found that leaving several paper towels soaked in bleach overnight makes almost any discolored porcelain or tile whiter than rice.

[identity profile] synnoveaevael.livejournal.com 2007-08-17 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
i clr'ed it a bit, but i'm going to have to do the paper towel/washcloth thing with that, cause it's up on the side. the spots that got to soak in the clr did pretty okay though. not whiter than white, but close :D

[identity profile] vladyphoenixv.livejournal.com 2007-08-17 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I swear by Kaboom, btw. Our shower gets scary. Pink, brown, black, and slimy. It's biological warfare. Kaboom makes it all go away.

[identity profile] synnoveaevael.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
SO scary sounding. omfg.
